The First United Methodist Church

Columbus, Texas

Columbus is known as the “Home of Live Oaks and Live Folks”, a motto that has stayed true in describing both the timeless natural beauty of town as well as the vibrant hospitality of its inhabitants. Located 70 miles west of Houston, 125 miles east of San Antonio and 87 miles south of Austin, Columbus is a relaxing small-town sanctuary just at the edge of the cities.

First United Methodist Church of Columbus is part of the global United Methodist Church.  

 

The United Methodist Church is divided into Jurisdictions and Annual Conferences.

Columbus FUMC belongs to the Rio Texas Conference which covers all of south Texas.

 

Within the Conference there are six Districts including the Crossroads District that covers the area from Victoria to Elgin and Seguin to Columbus.
